Equity crowdfunding platform Eureeca has raised $400,000 in funding on its own platform. The company closed the round in 12 days and says it held the campaign in response to customer interest in backing the platform itself.

Eureeca is headquartered in Dubai with offices in Amsterdam, London and Kula Lumpur. It claims more than 12,000 active investors on the platform ranging from casual and angel investors to institutional firms.

The company was launched in 2013 and focusses on allowing investors to buy equity in potentially high-yield investments around the Middle East, South-East Asia and Europe. It claims the average round size completed on the platform is $5,900.

Eureeca says it is licensed by both the UK Financial Conduct Authority and the Securities Commission Malaysia. The startups will use the funding to expand in South-East Asia and continental Europe.
