Electronic payment group ICP acquired by investor group

Electronic payment solution provider ICP Companies Group has been acquired by Paarl Equity GmbH and Operando Partners and four other undisclosed co-investors.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

ICP, which has various subsidiaries across Europe including ICP Transaction Solutions GmbH, offers solutions including prepaid cards, mobile phone payment services and a prepaid and collection service for the German Autobahn toll roads. The company solutions are used within the retail trade, industry and individual solutions, card processing and special solution sectors.

Germany-based ICP is currently partnered with global companies including Lekkerland, Schlecker, T-Mobile, T-Systems and Vodafone. The business has 140,000 connected POS systems and a total of around 165,000 transactions completed each year.

Last year the company acquired the cash processing division of ADT Tyco, and following this ADT Jalex GmbH, ADT SecurePay GmbH and Wellcom GmbH were all combined to create ICP International Cash Processing GmbH.
