Cloud-based investor platform BondLink has raised $10m in a funding round led by Franklin Templeton Investments.

Coatue also took part in the funding round. Following the transaction, Franklin Templeton Investments vice president Robert Stevenson will join Bondlink’s board of directors.

BondLink is a SaaS investor platform that helps bond issuers that require private capital to fund construction of roads, bridges, schools, tunnels and other public infrastructure. Through the investor relations solution, issuers are able to directly communicate with retail and institutional bond investors.

The company also offers analytics through real-time issuer data and ensures full regulatory compliance.

This new line of capital will be used to accelerate and expand the adoption of its product in the US bond issuers sector.

BondLink CEO and co-founder Colin MacNaught said, “BondLink was founded to move the muni bond market forward by empowering issuers with technology. Public sector CFOs and treasurers can now share their data in real-time with investors. Better disclosure leads to a more efficient market, which benefits not only issuers and their investors, but taxpayers all around the country.”

Last year, crowdlending platform WeShareBonds closed a €12m funding round with La Banque Postale and La Mutuelle Générale among those contributing to the round.
