Chase Pay, Samsung Pay partner to offer greater mobile payments support

Chase Pay and Samsung Pay have partnered to enable Samsung Galaxy smartphone users to connect both of their accounts.

Through the deal, users can use Samsung Pay’s Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology, along with NFC, to pay with the Chase Pay app at millions of merchants in the US by just tapping their phone on the POS terminals.

Connected accounts will earn both Samsung Reward points and Chase Ultimate Reward points (available for certain cards) for purchases made. Not only this, but consumers and businesses will access Chase Pay’s pay-with-points feature which lets consumers redeem their points at checkout. This service will be available to merchants at no extra implementation cost.

Samsung Pay VP and general manager Sang Ahn said, “Our vision for Samsung Pay is to create the most rewarding mobile shopping experience, whether consumers checkout at a physical merchant or find great deals within the Samsung Pay app.

“We’re thrilled to bring Samsung Pay’s unique technology for the benefit of both Chase and Samsung’s customers by offering consumers more choices and better mobile payment experiences.”

Chase Pay is a mobile app and digital engagement platform which enables consumers to complete transactions in stores or online. Chase Pay is the consumer and commercial banking division of JPMorgan Chase. Any Chase customer that holds a debit or credit card can access the Chase Pay solution and its rewards points scheme.

Samsung Pay is the mobile wallet and payments service provided on Samsung smartphones and devices. These services empower consumers to complete purchases at stores by simply tapping their mobile phone.
