GTR Ventures completes another three FinTech deals

Trade and supply chain-focused investor GTR Ventures has completed three new FinTech investments.

Working capital provider for SMEs iLoan, supply-side documentation automation software Lucidity, and B2B payment, accounts and settlement solution RM-Tech were the companies to receive an investment. These deals further GTR’s focus on supporting the Chinese and South Asian markets.

iLoan was founded in 2017 and provides micro and SMEs across South Asian markets with working capital access. The company utilises a loan aggregation engine and invoice verification protocol powered by a distributed ledger to improve transparency for loan assets.

Lucidity offers automation and digitalisation solutions for supply-side documentation. This ranges from transaction origination through to electronic BL solutions for exporters and traders.

China-based RM-Tech provides organisations with B2B portals with payment, accounts and settlement tools, as well as supporting low-cost financing. The platform has processed more than $143m in transactions to date and is processing around $14m a month.

GTR Ventures CIO Kelvin Tan said, “These latest additions to our investment portfolio correspond with our vision to create a compelling network effect of digital fintech solutions in the world of trade and supply chain, that can comprehensively cater to banks, non-banks, and SMEs.

“Be it geographical reach, loan products, operational efficiency, settlements, or asset distribution, we are on track to tackling different parts of the transactional value chain, with a view to deepening financial inclusion for exporters and SMEs globally.”

GTR Ventures launched last year, and made its debut five deals earlier in 2018 and has continued to make a number of deals in the FinTech space throughout the year.

Most recently, GTR made an undisclosed investment into the Africa-based digital deal origination and processing platform Orbitt. The company offers an online investment platform which is focused on the African market, helping investors to build portfolios based on sector, geography, capital type and ticket size. Its origination service is able to connect investors with the best opportunities.
