US InsurTech Dovetail names new CEO

South Carolina InsurTech Dovetail Insurance has appointed Michael Ferber as its new chief executive officer.

Dovetail provides a digital insurance product delivery platform for carriers, managing general agencies and brokers in the United States.

Ferber is set to replace Dove’s current CEO Gregory Martin, who will retire at the end of May. To his new role, Ferber brings strong experience in commercial insurance platform development and digital modernisation, the company said in a statement.

Ferber previously served as chief information officer at catastrophe insurance underwriting platform, ICAT. He also worked at Lehman Brothers as senior vice president for change management and a director at residential mortgage loan originator GMAC.

“We believe the future of insurance, in the small commercial sector, is for agents to be able to fulfill all of their clients’ insurance needs in one digital experience,” said Ferber.

“Dovetail is well positioned to be their go-to digital marketplace for business coverage in the United States, and I’m excited to lead the firm.”

Dovetail was founded in 2006 and is a part of global managing general underwriter Victor Insurance Holdings.

Victor CEO Christopher Schaper added, “Mike’s extensive background as a leader in operations, technology, and digital innovation, make him perfectly suited to lead Dovetail into its next chapter and meet the changing needs of clients.

“I want to thank Greg Martin for his extensive contributions to the firm and wish him the very best in his retirement.”
