Converged Security Solutions acquires cybersecurity company Maverick Cyber-Defense

Converged Security Solutions (CSS) has acquired cybersecurity company Maverick Cyber-Defense to expand its end-to-end security solutions.

The deal marks CSS’ third acquisition this year and bolsters its presence in the market. By adding Maverick services and its subject matter experts to its platform, CSS to offer clients a more expansive offering, it claims.

Maverick offers cybersecurity to Department of Defense and intelligence communities, state and local markets and the commercial industry. Its technology assesses the risk and vulnerabilities of a client, creates a security program, and eliminates potential threats before they become serious incidents. Its services include cyber operations, continuous validation and training and exercise.

CSS COO Bill Sabo said, “Maverick’s leading cyber defense services and proven reputation complement CSS’ security strategy and will allow us to provide an expanded value proposition for our customers. We are delighted to welcome Maverick to CSS.”

Private equity firms Hillcrest Holdings and Akoya Capital supplied CSS with the capital to support the acquisition. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Converged Security Solutions offers a comprehensive converged managed solution for both cyber and physical security. The end-to-end solution gives customers tools for assessment, remediation and monitoring of security around IT and critical infrastructure.

The company offers online system protection for networks and data, and also provides malware prevention, information assurance, penetration testing and incident response. Its physical security implementations include access control, ID management, video surveillance and motion detection.

Late last year, CSS closed a funding round from Tecum Capital Partners to support its growth and acquisitions.
