Curve expands wearables services through new Garmin, Fitbit and Sony partnerships

UK FinTech company Curve has signed a new partnership to make payments easier through wearable devices.

The new partnership is signed with Garmin, Fitbit and Sony’s Wena pay. The new deal will also make it free for customers to spend money abroad when using Curve’s services within the EEA area.

Customers will also be able to enjoy 1% Curve Cash, Curve-fronted debits payments, account overviews and to transfer money retroactively between accounts up to two weeks after a purchase.

Curve, which consolidates people’s cards into one card, began its venture into the wearables market in November by making its services available through Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

“Wearables are fast becoming one of the most convenient ways to pay for things on the go,” said Diego Rivas, head of product OS at Curve. “Bringing Curve’s unique all-your-cards-in-one benefits to three of the biggest players in the wearables space and enabling their customers to be able to pay with any bank using the Curve platform truly cements Curve as the ultimate way to manage all your finances in one place.”

The news comes as Curve is facing questions about how active its users really are. The doubts first arose a few weeks ago after numbers were leaked, showing that only 14% of Curve’s users were active on a monthly basis.
