Digital asset platform BitOoda closes funding round

BitOoda, a digital asset brokerage platform, has collected $7m in its seed funding round.

New Jersey-based BitOoda is a digital asset platform which merges online finance with applied science. The platform offers an agency broker which can help clients to navigate over-the-counter trades for digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The capital injection was supported by several angel investors including former chief energy economist at S&P Global Platts Dr. Gary Ross, former head of North American natural gas trading at British petroleum Calvin Schlenker and J.P. Morgan head of commodities sales and structuring Roy Salame.

BitOoda founder and CEO Tim Kelly said, “At BitOoda, we are never happy doing things in the same way as our competitors, and we are focused on creating new market sectors where we can leverage our team’s unique expertise in capital markets, physics, and engineering.

“We are excited about the growth opportunities this seed round will enable, and plan to position ourselves to meet the soaring demand for our innovative solutions – both here in the U.S. and increasingly across Asia and Europe.”
