Personal finance chatbot Cleo nabs £2m

AI personal finance app Cleo has reportedly raised £2m for its latest round of funding.

The round was led by LocalGlobe’s Robin Klein and also saw commitments from other angel investors including Skype founder Niklas Zennström, according to various reports by the media.

London-based Cleo is an AI chatbot via Facebook Messenger, which looks after your money. Through the platform users can ask Cleo about savings and expenses, which can be broken down into categories for easy referral.

The company plans to expand its user base across the world, and launch audio services for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, according to the company website.

Following this investment round, it brings total capital raised to around $2.7m, with the company picking up $700,000 from angel investors earlier this year.
