StreetShares raises up to $10m for latest fundraise

StreetShares has raised up to $10m for its latest investment round, which has a goal of $20m.

So far, the company has registered 253 investors the round, according to the latest US Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

It is unclear in the filing who the investors are or if the $20m sum is a target or hard cap.

Virgina-based StreetShares is an online lending platform connecting investors and small businesses. The platform works by a company applying for a loan and then investors bidding to fund the company, with the lowest offers combined to create the lowest possible interest rate.

The platform has a focus on supporting on veteran-run businesses.

Following this investment, StreetShares has received a total funding of around $217m, with a $200m debt financing being injected into the company in 2015.
