Omniex secures $5m seed led by Wicklow Capital

Cryptocurrency investment solution Omniex Holdings has secured $5m in a seed financing round led by Wicklow Capital.

Additional participants to the round include Sierra Ventures, Digital Currency Group, Clocktower Technology Ventures, and ThirdStream Partners, among others.

The company is developing an integrated platform to help clients with the entire crypto-asset investments and trading lifecycle. This institutional operating solution for investors and traders to better manage their involvement in the space.

Some of the solutions Omniex offers include a portfolio management solution, a tool to track portfolio positions, valuations and risk, an execution management service, which utilises multiple liquidity venues or an algorithmic execution.

Omniex’s co-founder and CEO Hu Liang said, “Institutional crypto-asset investors have higher standards than the general retail market. Our team is applying what we learned from building asset management and high-performance trading platforms for traditional asset classes to crypto. We’re accelerating the institutional adoption of this new asset class.”

Earlier in the year, Wicklow took part in the $7m Series A round of cryptocurrency security hardware developer Ledger. The capital was raised to help with the expansion into the enterprise space, with the launch of its security offering.
