Landoop closes $1m seed financing led by Marathon

Data streaming management platform Landoop has closed a $1m seed financing round led by Marathon Venture Partners.

Founded in 2016, the company is a data streamlining product which helps businesses to build and operate real-time data pipelines at scale. The solution can help developers to kickstart data projects and applications quickly, and cheaper.

The UK-based company helps with auditing and testing, security, monitoring, implementation assistance, architect and design, cloud solutions and demo proofing, among other tasks. Institutions in the finance, telecommunication, utilities and retail industries have implemented the company’s technology.

This capital injection will be used by the company to support the company’s product development, boost its open source community and expand its client reach. Landoop is also looking to add members to its engineering and partnership teams.

Landoop CEO & Cofounder Antonios Chalkiopoulos said, “Distributed messaging systems provide the engine, but people nowadays are also looking for convenience. Data pipelines need to be built in minutes – not in weeks – and operated with confidence. Data scientists require access to streaming data and business analysts need to be building real-time streaming analytics.”

Earlier in the week, Marathon Venture Partners reportedly led the $9.4m funding round into Lion Rock FinTech.

Last year the data & analytics sector was dominated by the North American market, with it representing three-quarters of the total investments. Europe represented a very small share of the capital, with it only seeing $22m deployed, out of a total $1.2bn.
