FundPlaces receives $2m investment from Global Yellow Pages

FundPlaces, a blockchain-based real estate investment platform, has received a $2m investment from Global Yellow Pages.

Singapore-based FundPlaces is an online platform to help users discover, research and invest in real estate opportunities. The company utilises blockchain technology and helps consumers to build a portfolio starting at $1,000.

Through the platform, users can take part in development, financing or ownership of real estate projects around the world, including the UK, Australia and Germany.

With this a batch of funding, the company is hoping to develop its product and support its expansion in to new markets like New Zealand and Singapore.

At the end of 2017, UK-based CrowdProperty closed a crowdfunding campaign on £907,467, from the sale of 9.23 per cent equity. The company is a P2P lender that helps connect loans between private individuals and professional property businesses.

Late last year, Singapore’s FinTech market was very active, with anonymous account aggregation and analytics platform Canopy closing a $3.4m investment from Credit Suisse and Lionrock Capital.

Other recent activity in the country includes a funding round by employee benefit solution VENTENY.com, which raised $2.3m, and data analytics solution Iguazio opening its APAC regional headquarters in the country.
