Appointment and scheduling platform BookingBug has collected $13.4m in its Series C funding round.

Capital was supplied by PeakSpan Capital and Downing Ventures. The company’s total funding efforts have reached $17.2m.

BookingBug helps brands, agencies and resellers to create a data-driven and integrated system for customer lifecycles. The platform simplifies processes from queuing through to booking, improving staff and resource utilisation for financial institutions and public-sector agencies.

Financial services use BookingBug to set up digital meetings with banking customers, identify high-value customers and offer a personalised approach.

This equity injection will be used to further the growth of the company, including a 30 per cent increase in its global customer base. Funds will also be used to aid its sales and marketing strategy.

PeakSpan Capital co-founder and managing partner, Brian Mulvey said, “BookingBug is experiencing strong momentum by occupying arguably the highest-value and highest-intent segment of the customer journey – namely, when a customer proactively wants to spend their valuable time and engage with an actual person.

“We particularly admire BookingBug’s pace of customer adoption both within and across verticals, such as retail, financial services and public sector, as well as globally, most notably in North America, where BookingBug has seen immediate success.”

Last year, BookingBug saw a ‘significant global growth’ and hired a selection of major hires to its team, including Facebook’s Aldo King as head of product, ReadiNow Corporation’s Jonathon Coleman as Asia Pacific general manager and Extreme Networks’ Todd Nicholson to CMO.

This is the latest FinTech company to join PeakSpan which has previously backed leasing and credit solution provider Better Finance, risk management platform Kenna Security, and cybersecurity company WhiteHat Security.
