Vestr and Shift become SIX FinTech Ventures’ first investments

Up-and-coming FinTechs Vestr and Shift Cryptosecurity have secured an investment from SIX FinTech Ventures.

The companies are the first start-ups to backed by Six Fintech’s CHF 50m ($49m) venture fund. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed, however the firm looks to invest between CHF 0.2 and CHF 3m per round.

Vestr’s platform allows for the creation and management of actively managed certificates, which it markets as a fast and cost-effective alternative to investment funds. The start-up graduated from the F10 accelerator program last year and is currently working with tier-one banks.

Shift Cryptosecurity was founded in 2015 and is spin off of the ETH Zurich university. The crypto engineering business provides hardware and software-based security services for cryptocurrency and the wider blockchain sector.

Ultimately, our goal is to further establish SIX as an innovative company with an international reputation as a trusted partner for startups.”

SIX FinTech Venture is the VC arm of Swiss financial services business Six Group. The firm is looking for scalable start-ups in the FinTech sector, with a particular focus on businesses that provide value to the Swiss financial ecosystem.
