Zurich reveals the 8 startups to make the final of its innovation challenge

Zurich has revealed the eight startups to make the final round of its Innovation World Championship.

The finalists were selected from 22 startups that took part in the regional round of the championship at the end of last year. In the former round, each participant pitched their ideas and products which would transform the insurance space.

One of the companies to make the final round is Zesty/ai, an AI-powered computer vision solution which helps insurers to better assess risk. The company utilises satellite and aerial imagery along with data sources from billions of data points on buildings and their surroundings. Late last year, the company closed a Series A funding round on $13m.

Another one of the finalists is Chisel, a provider of AI and natural language processing technology to help insurers with unstructured data sources.

The other finalises are data and analytics for IoT Habit Analytics, water leak analysis platform Shayp, sales management service Vymo, stress monitoring watch Soldier.ly, B2B health and wellness company LifeNome, and policy management startup Nubihome.

Each of the products will present their ideas in Zurich at the end of January to a group of global executives and stakeholders. Zurich is looking at the companies as it believes they could ‘revolutionise’ its services.

The three winners will be revealed at the end of the month.
