Cogito Capital raises €55m for late, growth-stage fund close

Cogito Capital has raised €55m for the first close of a late-stage and growth-stage fund.

Cogito Fund I will mostly invest in Series B and Series C technology companies operating in Central Europe with the potential for European and North American expansion.

The firm, which has offices in Warsaw and New York, is focused on companies operating in the B2B software, FinTech and mobility sectors.

The European Investment Fund was a cornerstone investor in the fund, alongside the PFR KOFFI Fund and the PFR NCBR CVC Fund, both managed by the Polish Development Fund.

Cogito general partner Sylwester Janik “We are delighted to be launching our first fund with such strong institutional support from the EIF as the anchor investor and the PFR as the local investor, making Cogito the first such case for CEE-focused growth-stage fund.”

Cogito was founded last year by former MCI Capital senior partner Janik and New Europe Ventures founding partner and Martin Jasinski.

Alongside the fund close, the firm has announced its first deal for the investment vehicle after joining the €30m Series B round for invoice finance platform MarketInvoice.
