Vectra launches Asia Pacific operations with opening of Sydney office

Vectra, a network threat detection and response platform, has launched operations in the Asia Pacific region, months after Series E round close.

The company has set up a regional headquarters in Sydney which will support the distribution of its managed detection services which protect from cyberattacks in the cloud. Its new office will be headed by Kevin Vanhaelen, the former head of strategy and operations at Telstra.

In this position, he will be responsible for growing Vectra’s presence in the region with a focus on the company’s channel strategy and customer growth.

This announcement comes hot off the heels of the RegTech’s $100m Series E round, which was backed by investors including IA Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Accel Partners. The capital was raised to support the market expansion and R&D innovation plans of the enterprise.

Vectra currently operates across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Japan, with R&D centres in Dublin, Ireland, Austin, Texas and Massachusetts.

The company’s Cognito solution addresses security gaps by offering 360-degree visibility into cloud data centre, user and IOT infrastructures, removing hiding places for attackers. Powered by AI technology, the platform automates the manual processes and prioritises active attacks which pose the most threat.

Vectra Asia-Pacific regional director Kevin Vanhaelen said, “Our recent funding, coupled with our rapid growth in the global security market, uniquely positions Vectra to earn significant business in the Asia-Pacific region.

“We’re delivering a disruptive new approach that enables security operations teams to detect and respond faster than ever to cyberthreats so that enterprise organisations and managed detection and response providers can stop catastrophic data breaches.”
