PayFit has set up shop in the UK to help British businesses with their payroll woes

France-based PayFit, the digital payroll provider, has launched in the UK on the back of its latest funding round in June.

The €70m ($79m) round was aimed to help the company scale further, having already gathered 300 employees operating in Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and now London. The company helps roughly 4,000 businesses with their payroll companies. The Shoreditch office houses 18 staff members.

CEO and co-founder Firmin Zocchetto has said that tapping into the market of 5.7 million UK SMEs is only the beginning.

The company has previously raised money from Eurazeo, the investment company, as well as VC firm Accel, which supported London-based cybersecurity startup Snyk earlier in September.

PayFit raised a $15.9m Series B round in July 2017 on the back of a $5.6m round in October 2016.
