Ipsdy launches its secure identity solution in Peru

The Peruvian National ID Registry RENIEC has joined forces with secure ID company Ipsdy to give Peru’s businesses better confidence to battle fraud.

Ipsdy’s offers a suite of secure, mobile and biometric know-you-customer (KYC) solutions. This range has now been strengthened with the RENIEC agreement. Once connected, RENIEC can verify national ID cards through Ipsdy’s Proof service. Ipsdy will be able to connect to RENIEC’s platform and submit facials biometric and national ID card data for validation against the national registry’s own records.

The company stated that it is paramount for financial institutions to quickly become certain that the people they are dealing with are who they say they are.

“The Agreement with RENIEC marks an important milestone in our IdaaS platform development,” said Philip Beck, CEO of Ipsidy.  “This represents the first implementation in our plan to connect to national registries around the world to provide our customers with government-backed certainty as to the authenticity of identity credentials.  Everything starts with trusted identity, and validation by the government that issues a document provides the highest level of trust for our clients.”
