INKY Technology wraps up $6m round

Anti-phishing startup INKY Technology Corporation has wrapped up a $6m funding round led by ClearSky Security.

Other contributions came from Gula Tech Adventures. Proceeds from this round will be used to expand market reach and its technology stack.

INKY Technology was built to help companies better prepare themselves from sophisticated phishing attacks which use hidden text and altered logos.

Its flagship service, INKY Phish Fence, it fuelled by anomaly detection algorithms and computer vision technology to detect and stop brand forgery emails, spear phishing attempts and extortion attacks. Moreover, it informs employees with warnings on any unusual or suspicious emails.

ClearSky Security managing partner Peter Kuper said, “In the 18 months since our foundational investment in INKY, the company has racked up numerous key commercial wins and has improved the intelligence of the core INKY Phish Fence product well beyond what incumbent vendors are capable of. We’re thrilled to support INKY at this exciting inflection point for the company.”

In line with the investment, Gula Tech Adventures founder Ron Gula will join the INKY board of advisor.

ClearSky has been an active investor in the cybersecurity space. The firm recently participated in the $25m Series B of SKOUT CYBERSECURITY, a cloud-native security solution for SMBs.

The firm also recently contributed to the $50m Series B of data protection service BigID.
