UK challenger bank Monzo now enables account holders to use Google Pay while they are waiting for a replacement card.
If a customer’s Monzo card is stolen, lost or damaged, the digital bank will now activate Google Pay for them while their new debit card is in the post. When a customer does receive the new card, it will only be usable once they have activated it on the Monzo app.
The FinTech is also looking to offer the same with Apple Pay in the coming months.
Earlier in the month, a survey on YouGov revealed Monzo was the most recommended brand in the UK, receiving a score of 84.8.
Earlier in the year, the challenger bank saw its valuation double to £2bn after it closed its £113m funding round from Y Combinator, Continuity, Latitude and other investment firms.
