BestDoctor closes $4.5m round

Russian online medical insurance platform BestDoctor has bagged $4.5m in a round led by Addventure and Target Global.

LVL1 also participated in the raise, according to TechCrunch.

Target Global has previously invested in companies like London-based InsurTech Zego. Its managing partner Mikhail Lobanov told TechCrunch that he was impressed by how BestDoctor mixes both insurance and a 24/7 online healthcare service.

BestDoctor plans to use the money to expand and develop its services.

BestDoctor is not the only healthcare InsurTech company to have raised money in the past few months.

For instance, Air Doctor secured $7.8m in its Series A funding round at the end of March 2020.
