Zensurance closes its Series B round to help grow the team

Canadian digital commercial insurance platform Zensurance has closed its Series B round to increase its hiring efforts.

The round was supplied by global insurance company The Travelers Companies.

Capital from the round will be used to scale the hiring efforts and increase its customer base to over 150,000 Canadian small businesses.

The InsurTech provides products that helps small business owners protect and grow their enterprises. Its business insurance covers a host of different industries including accounting, architecture, health and wellness, hospitality, sports and more.

Policies can cover various aspects of the business including liability, errors and omissions, builders risk, cyber liability, commercial property and others.

Zensurance founder and CEO Danish Yusuf said, “We’ve come a long way since our inception in 2016. We are thrilled to have the capital and strategic support from Travelers to take Zensurance to the next level.

“We intend to accelerate our ability to provide small businesses in numerous industries across Canada with a trustworthy, modernized and competitive commercial insurance solution.”

The company’s previous funding round was in 2018.
