Tide is preparing for a launch in India

London-based startup Tide is apparently about to join the smattering of other FinTechs expanding into India.

In the past, other foreign companies like Atlantis and WhatsApp have made headlines by attempting to tap into the nation’s underserved customer base.

Launched 2016, Tide now has over 250,000 SME members, 250 employee and has raised over £70m in funding.

Along the way, Tide has inked deals with industry champions such as Mastercard and GoCardless. Tide has developed a digital business banking platform.

Now, the company is seemingly looking to take the next step by expanding into  India.

Newly appointed CEO Gurjodhpal Singh will lead the expansion, which will build on the already operating technology centre Tide has set up in Hyderabad, India.
