Spectral launches from stealth alongside $6.2m round

From RegTech Analyst

Cybersecurity startup Spectral comes out of stealth following the close of a $6.2m funding round.

The round was led by Amiti and MizMaa.

The company claims that 35% of organisations that have a strong open-source posture had at least one public leak. Furthermore, nearly 50% of the leaks are due to bad security hygiene from personal employee accounts and shadow account on cloud services.

With rising pressures on teams to build stronger security solutions at a  quicker rate, the company’s co-founder, Dotan Nahum, noticed a challenge to fix.

Based in Israel, Spectral is a developer-first cybersecurity solution that identifies and protects against costly security mistakes in code, configuration and other developer assets. It claims the platform can detect mistakes across hundreds of tech stacks to provide real-time prevention and issue flagging.

Spectral co-founder and COO Idan Didi said, “Our solution prevents security breaches on a daily basis.

“The pain points we’re addressing resonate strongly across every company developing software, because as they evolve from own-code to glue-code to no-code approaches they allow their developers to gain more speed, but they also add on significant amounts of risk. Spectral lets developers be more productive while keeping the company secure.”
