InsurTech company Air Doctor is a finalist for the 2021 Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards

Israel-based InsurTech company Air Doctor has been named as a finalist for the 2021 Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards competition.

The competition aims to highlight and reward the most innovative companies developed by, or are in collaboration with, insurance companies across five continents.

Nominations for the award spanned 55 countries and experts on the panel selected nominees for awards in six different categories. Efma members and the general public can now vote for the winners.

Voting, which can be done here, commenced on April 20 and will close of May 3. The results of the competition shall be announced on June 3.

Air Doctor CEO and founder Jenny Cohen Darfler said, “We are pleased to take part in the Efma and Accenture competition, which provides a platform for innovative companies in the insurance world, including InsurTech.

“We believe that the Air Doctor platform and the service we offer will benefit travellers abroad and allow them to receive fast, quality, and local medical care if needed. In light of the pandemic, Air Doctor will allow travellers to feel much more confident.”

Founded in 2016, Air Doctor helps connect travellers in need of medical care with an international network of doctors to provide health services and payment solutions. The app is available in 61 countries.

Last year, the company bagged $7.8m in its Series A round, which was led by Kamet Ventures and the Phoenix Insurance Company.
