Planet launches integrated digital payments service across Europe

Irish payments company Planet has introduced an integrated digital payments service for multinational companies across Europe.

The new service will allow retailers to provide a simplified payment service that unifies multiple payment channels. Planet claims the integrated system will allow merchants to trade globally as the world reopens after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Established in 1985, Planet is a payments service provider that serves over 600,000 merchants and 100 financial partners across more than 70 markets on five continents. The company works with merchants in the retail, food, beverage, parking and retail sectors and helps to simplify complex payment processes.

Planet has 27 locations around the world and has representation in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia.

The company’s retail payment platform offers users acquiring, VAT refunds, processing and currency conversion all in a single device. Multiple payment methods are accepted on the platform, as well as the WeChat and Alipay digital wallets.

Planet noted its retail service has been further bolstered by android payment terminals which enable a more faster, efficient process at the till. The firm added its integrations with point-of-sale software providers means merchants can operate a fully integrated all-in-one retail service.
