Crowdcube receives investment from SeedInvest owner

Crowdfunding platform Crowdcube has raised $13.5m in a funding round, of which, Circle Internet Financial has invested $10.5m.

Circle Internet Financial is the owner and operator of US fundraising platform SeedInvest. The companies hope this strategic partnership will pave the way for a “global future for internet-native capital formation at every level of private fundraising.”

With the support of the capital, Crowdcube plans to accelerate its launch into emerging European markets.

SeedInvest CEO and co-founder Ryan Feit said, “Private capital online fundraising is at a pivotal moment of maturation. We are thrilled to work with Crowdcube to roll out online fundraising across Europe and celebrate this significant milestone towards the inevitable global future of the industry.

“Expanding online fundraising to new markets creates a massive opportunity for internet native capital formation where individuals and businesses can connect and transact digitally from anywhere.”

Last year, Crowdcube and Seedrs merged services to combine their reach.
