Brazil accounts for 43% of all FinTech seed deals in Latin America during Q1 2022

  • Brazil continues to produce innovative FinTech companies with 16 seed deals registered in the country during the first three months of 2022. This is cementing Brazil’s position as the FinTech hub of Latin America with venture capitalists backing early disruptors in financial services.
  • Yuno, an embedded payment platform and fraud detection service, was the largest FinTech seed deal in Latin America during Q1 2022. Yuno managed to raise $10m in funding after only two months since their launch but with team members from experienced companies such as Worldpay, McKinsey & Co., and MasterCard they are a company to watch this year.
  • Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies completed the most seed deals in Q1 2022 with seven in total showing continued innovation in the sector. Gavea Marketplace, a blockchain-based commodities exchange, had the biggest deal in the sector during the first three months of the year.
