Illuminate Financial forms strategic relationship with 4 financial institutions

FinTech-focused venture capital firm Illuminate Financial has established a strategic relationship with Jefferies, J.P Morgan, S&P Global and Deutsche Börse Group.

As part of this, the four firms will commit to invest into Illuminate Financial’s venture capital strategy.

Illuminate Financial, which was founded by veteran finance executive Mark Beeston, has invested into over 30 companies that address core challenges across financial services, including digital assets infrastructure, climate and ESG, data and private markets.

Speaking on the partnership, S&P Global executive vice president, global head strategy, M&A and partnerships Sally Moore said, “We value our long-standing relationship with Illuminate who have provided us with insights across a spectrum of new innovation that’s helping to shape the financial services landscape.  Connectivity with fintech participants is key to our partnership program strategy.”

Last year, JP Morgan Chase and Barclays invested $100m into Illuminate Financial.

The investment firm recently joined the $105m Series B funding round of digital asset trading technology developer Talos. The funding round brought Talos’ valuation to $1.25bn.

Another recent investment from Illuminate was in TransFICC, a low-latency connectivity and workflow services provider for the fixed income and derivatives market.
