SURE expands home coverage in North Carolina

SURE, a member-owned insurance company for reliable coastal asset protection, has expanded its coverage to be available in North Carolina.

Established in 2021, SURE is managed by a team of experiences and passionate insurance leaders who believe in building a safer world, “one coastal asset at a time.”

SURE’s North Carolina Homeowners Insurance is written, distributed and serviced by SageSure, a leader in disaster-exposed property insurance.

According to NOAA, North Carolina ranks fourth among the US states with the most landfall storms from 1851-2020, behind only Florida, Texas and Louisiana. SURE said the state has suffered 14 tropical cyclone billion-dollar disaster events over the past ten years.

SURE also highlighted that North Carolina’s property insurance market is tightening up, amid growing devastation in the state. More carriers are restricting underwriting consideration, removing coverage and increasing prices. SURE said some carriers have even left the state altogether.

Ed Konar, SURE President, said, “Sure was founded to respond to the need for reliable property insurance in states with significant disaster risk. Definitely has grown rapidly since we began in 2021 as we specialize in the management of cat-exposed risk. We are excited to be a long-term solution for North Carolina homeowners and look forward to protecting them. “

Terence McLean, SageSure co-founder and CEO, said, “SageSure is proud to partner with Sure to bring our tailored products, exceptional service and leading claims experience to North Carolina. We pride ourselves on protecting our policyholders so they can rebuild and recover quickly after a major loss.”

Hub International Limited (HUB), a global insurance brokerage and financial services firm, recently partnered with RESAAS Services, a technology platform for the real estate industry to simplify the home insurance process.

Also earlier this year, Livlet, a smart home management platform, partnered with specialist insurer Hiscox for home insurance policies.
