Ameritas launches digital retirement savings platform

The retirement plans division of Ameritas Life Insurance has launched a digital retirement savings and financial wellness platform, GoalWise.

GoalWise allows users to manage the end-to-end retirement savings journey. It boasts personalised, goal-based gamification experiences for participants and insightful, targeted, event-driven communications and data trending for financial professionals and sponsors to better ensure a funded retirement.

The digital retirement savings and financial wellness platform is designed to engage key stakeholders in a digital location to promote financial literacy, wellness and higher savings rates through interactive education and guidance.

Ameritas retirement plans partnered with iJoin to provide the technology solution, powered by single sign on capabilities. The service has a ‘cafeteria style’ approach to offering multiple managed account solutions, draw down strategies and voluntary benefits, including emergency savings accounts to retirement plan participants.

GoalWise plans to offer financial literacy support, including budgeting, debt management, other savings tools and protection products wrapped in holistic financial wellness.

Ameritas executive vice president Jim Kais said, “We are committed to helping Americans achieve a funded retirement, reduce financial stress and live healthier lives. GoalWise brings an entire suite of services and products that help people save and retire in a manner that meets participants where they want, on their schedule with digital or human interaction.

“The integrated, technology stack offers solutions that can be scaled while remaining flexible to meet future market demand with competitive pricing particularly down market.”

Earlier in the year, digital pensions platform Penfold raised £7m in its Series A funding round, as it supports the launch of its workplace pension platform late last year. The company offers a mobile app that lets users combine their pensions, set goals, adjust contributions and pick from a selection of investment plans.

Another digital pensions app Penny recently closed a funding round. The company raised £4m in a seed round.
